How to Measure Curtains from Rod to Floor
Measure the rod-to-floor distance correctly for floor length or puddle curtains.
Rod-to-floor measurement is the most important number for long curtains. Measuring only the window height can lead to panels that are too short once the rod is installed above the frame.
Step by Step
- Install the rod or mark the final rod height.
- Measure straight down to the floor at both ends of the window.
- Use the smaller measurement if the floor is uneven.
- Adjust for rings or clips if the panel hangs below them.
Helpful Check
If the rod is not installed yet, tape the planned height on the wall and measure from that mark before buying panels.
